Both spider veins and varicose veins less than 4 mm in diameter can easily be eliminated through laser therapy . One appointment with the doctor almost always achieves the correct diagnosis and recommendation for Varicose Vein Treatment. Treatment then can be performed. All of these procedures are done on an outpatient basis in our clinic.
Laser treatment for varicose veins is considered a safe procedure with a relatively low risk of complications and you can expect a laser varicose vein treatment to be performed on an outpatient basis. This means that you will most likely be able to return home immediately after the procedure and resume most normal life activities. There will be certain things that you will need to avoid for a certain amount of time, like vigorous exercise and the use of a sauna or hot tub.
“It’s not uncommon for people to feel self-conscious about prominent veins on their legs. This laser treatment can dramatically improve the appearance of one’s legs. Overall patient satisfaction is very high with laser vein removal treatments.”

Procedure Time: Depending on the severity of the area being treated procedure time varies from 20 minutes to an hour.
Number of Sessions: Usually 1 to 3 treatments are needed to achieve the best results.
Before the Procedure: Shave the area to be treated if there is course, dark hair and bring compression stockings to your appointment to wear after varicose vein treatment. Compression stockings can be purchased at most pharmacies.
During the Procedure: Each pulse of the laser is very fast and delivers a warm or hot sensation that travels through the vein. The tissue is cooled before and after each pulse for patient comfort. The procedure is well tolerated by patients, no analgesic is required.
After the Procedure: Smaller veins may disappear instantly after one treatment while larger veins might look swollen and bruised while the tissue heals. Skin may look mildly or moderately red. Legs might feel sore or achy after treatment, so unnecessary activity is discouraged. Compression stockings are worn for a few weeks after varicose vein treatment to support optimal results.
